Refining the Results by Means of Facets

Located on the left side of the screen, their total number is seven. They allow to refine the search results. Clicking on the facet title allows to visualize the possible choices. Several boxes can be ticked in the same facet. These boxes are linked by the “OR” operator. Then click on Refine to view the result.

It is possible to refine several times in a row by repeating this sequence. The operator between the facets is “AND.” On the page of results, the filters used to refine the results can be visualized under the Your filters heading, and can be suppressed by clicking on the cross.

The facets

• Filter: it allows to select the records with abstract and the database referencing them
• Publication Type: The different types of indexed documents are Article, Book, Book Chapter, Conference Paper, Conference Proceedings, Map, Patent, Report, Report Part, Serial Issue and Thesis
• Publication Year: Document Publication year
• Discipline: Scientific discipline of the document
• Language: Document language
• Author Country: Affiliation country of each author
• Origen: allows to select the records from the Inist-CNRS or from a partner organization
